Johannes Kratz, MD, the recipient of UCSF Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educations' Excellence in Teaching Award 2023

Johannes Kratz, MD has been chosen as a recipient of UCSF Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators' Excellence in Teaching Award for 2023. 

The Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators is dedicated to creating an environment that enhances the status of teachers at UCSF, promotes and rewards teaching excellence, fosters curricular innovation, and encourages scholarship in medical education.

The Academy's Excellence in Teaching Awards are peer-nominated and recognize the many "front-line" faculty members who are involved in teaching medical students and residents daily and who help to make UCSF such an outstanding educational institution.

Johannes Kratz, MD is an Associate Professor of Surgery. He is also the Van Auken Endowed Chair in Thoracic Oncology, Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Thoracic Surgery, Medical Director of Robotic Surgery at UCSF Health, and the Director of the UCSF Thoracic Surgery Residency Program.
